Democracy For The People

By the Congressional Black Caucus Institute

Democracy for the People is a nationwide tour that will take place in at least 10 cities around the country in primarily southern states. The summer of action will culminate in August during the 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington.

Democracy for the People follows the Congressional Black Caucus’ National Summit on Democracy and Race, which this month, brought together government leaders, scholars, activists, experts and thought leaders to develop messaging and organizing strategies to address the ongoing threats to our democracy and fundamental freedoms – including the expulsions of Black legislators in Tennessee and the upcoming voting rights, redistricting, and affirmative action cases that will go before the Supreme Court this summer.

Check Out Highlights From the Tour

We are traveling to cities across the country to educate communities, register voters and train organizers on issues of democracy and race in America.
